In the wee hours of the morning, two college students lost their lives in a terrible motorcycle accident near Echanari, Coimbatore. Alex Joseph and Salman Khan, both 20 years old and in their third year of undergraduate studies, were riding their friend’s two-wheeler when they crashed into a barricade on the Coimbatore-Pollachi road.
The Accident
The accident occurred as the two students were returning from a late-night tea break in the Malumichambatti area of Coimbatore. Alex Joseph was driving the motorcycle, and Salman Khan was seated behind him. As they turned a curve near the Anjaneyar Temple, the motorcycle lost control and crashed into a barrier in the middle of the road.
Tragic Consequences
Both students were thrown from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries that proved fatal. Despite the efforts of witnesses and first responders, they died on the spot due to blood loss. The Madhukarai police were informed and rushed to the scene, where they seized the bodies and sent them to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police Investigation
The police have launched an investigation into the accident and have determined that the speeding of the motorcycle was the primary cause. Alex Joseph and Salman Khan were both residents of Kodaikanal, Dindigul district, and were studying at a private college in Madhukarai, Coimbatore. They were staying at a private hostel in the area while pursuing their undergraduate degrees.
The tragic loss of these two young lives has sent shockwaves through the community, and the families and friends of Alex Joseph and Salman Khan are grieving their loss.
