Chennai: Exciting news surfaced yesterday at the “Leo” movie success event in Chennai, where actor Joseph Vijay hinted at his possible entry into politics. Amidst ongoing rumors about his political aspirations, Vijay’s words at the event have sparked curiosity among his fans.
“Leo” marks the second collaboration between Joseph Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj after their successful venture “Master.” The movie, featuring Joseph Vijay, Trisha Krishnan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun, Manoj Bajpayee, and Sanjay Dutt, was released in theaters on October 19. While the film received mixed reviews, it managed to gross a staggering Rs.540 crore within the first 12 days of its release.
During the success event held at Chennai’s Nehru Indoor Stadium, Joseph Vijay addressed the crowd, quelling the ongoing controversy surrounding various superstar titles. He humbly stated, “The people are the kings; I am your commander. I am prepared to follow your lead. In cinema, titles like Puratchi Thalaivar, Puratchi Kalaignar, Captain, Ulaga Nayagan, Superstar, and Thala exist for different individuals. Let’s not waste time arguing on social media. We have important work ahead. If the audience appreciates our efforts, they will show their support. If not, they will move on.”
Amidst cheers from his devoted fans, Joseph Vijay responded to a question about his potential entry into politics, which was raised with an eye on the 2026 assembly elections. Initially, he gave a vague response. However, after a thoughtful pause, he glanced at his fans and remarked, “The cup is important, kids. You have to take care of it.”
With the 2021 Tamil Nadu assembly elections behind us, all eyes are now on the upcoming 2026 elections. Joseph Vijay’s cryptic statement has left political observers speculating about his potential political journey, possibly by forming his own party. Fans eagerly await further developments, hoping for an official announcement from the beloved actor.
