In a surprising turn of events, chaos ensued during the 222nd Guru Puja of freedom fighter Marudhu Pandiyar at Kalaiyar Kovil in Sivaganga district of Tamilnadu. The police had explicitly instructed attendees to use their own vehicles for the event. Despite this, a staggering 26 individuals were found crammed into a single Maruti Suzuki Bolero.

The district administration had implemented strict measures to ensure safety, including a curfew and a ban on two-wheelers. Attendees were strictly advised to adhere to traffic regulations. However, some individuals chose to ignore these guidelines, causing a disturbance by hanging from the roofs and sides of their vehicles.

Additionally, a group of young people further escalated the situation by recklessly carrying burning torches along the road.

In a particularly alarming instance, 26 people were discovered inside one Bolero car. Three individuals were precariously perched on the bonnet, 13 on the car’s roof, and four on each side. Furthermore, three people were squeezed into the backseat. The police promptly intervened, issuing a stern warning to the occupants and the driver.

Despite these warnings, the driver was whisked away by his friends, avoiding further consequences. It remains concerning that some young attendees chose to flout the rules, engaging in music and dancing inside their cars, ignoring the restrictions put in place by the police.
