Director’s Wife Bedridden for 5 Years After Wrong Treatment at Hospital

In a heartbreaking incident, Jayapriya, a renowned Kuchipudi dancer, has been confined to her bed for the past five years due to a medical error at a private hospital in Chennai. The incident, which occurred after Jayapriya sought treatment for physical pain, has left her unable to walk and devastated her family.

Vikraman, a respected director in Tamil cinema known for his successful films like Pudhu Vasantham, Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen, Poove Unakaga, Vaanathaippola, Surya Vamsam is Jayapriya’s husband. Despite his achievements in the film industry, he has been tirelessly caring for his bedridden wife, showcasing unwavering dedication and love.

Jayapriya, who once graced a thousand stages with her graceful dance moves, can no longer pursue her passion due to damaged nerves in her spine resulting from the hospital’s wrong treatment. Despite having two nurses to assist her, Vikraman, emotionally drained but determined, has taken on the responsibility of caring for his wife, holding onto the hope that she might walk again one day.

The family has faced immense financial strain, having sold 70% of their assets to cover the staggering medical expenses, which amount to Rs 5 lakh per month. Jayapriya is now considering selling their cherished garden in Courtallam to continue her treatment and cover mounting bills.

When asked why they have not taken legal action against the hospital responsible for the wrong treatment, Jayapriya revealed a heart-wrenching truth. The hospital’s chairman had been a benefactor to many families in the film industry, offering free education to their children and medical services. This generosity, however, has come to an abrupt end, leaving Jayapriya and Vikraman without the support they once relied on.

Despite their dire circumstances, Vikraman hesitates to tarnish the hospital’s reputation publicly, fearing it might harm the futures of other aspiring film industry professionals. Jayapriya fervently hopes that the hospital’s management will recognize the immense suffering caused by their mistake and voluntarily provide compensation for the damages endured by her family.

In the face of adversity, Vikraman and Jayapriya stand together, their love and resilience shining through despite the challenges they endure.
